Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Security Ops Wire is published by Perki Solutions Private Limited (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use securityopswire.com, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

We have kept it to what is actually true of this site. A privacy policy listing data practices a publisher does not have is worse than a short one that is accurate.

The short version

We run a publication, not a data business. We do not sell personal information. We do not build advertising profiles of readers. We do not require an account to read anything on this site. Most visitors are counted, not identified.

What we collect

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read and how people arrive. This involves IP address (truncated by Google before storage), approximate location at city level, device and browser type, referring source, pages viewed, and time on page. Google sets cookies to do this.

Search performance data. We use Google Search Console, which reports aggregated search queries and click data. It does not identify individual readers.

Server and security logs. Our hosting and content delivery providers log IP addresses, request timestamps, user agents, and error events. These are used to keep the site running and to defend against attacks, and they rotate on a short retention cycle.

What you send us. If you email contact@, editorial@, or partnerships@securityopswire.com, we receive whatever is in your message: your name, email address, employer, and anything else you choose to include. We keep correspondence for as long as the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards for business records.

Newsletter data (not yet live). Our newsletter is in development. When it launches, subscribing will involve giving us an email address, and our email provider will record opens and clicks. Subscription will be opt-in and every message will carry an unsubscribe link. We will update this policy with the provider’s name before the first send.

Embedded content. Some articles embed third-party media such as video players or social posts. Those providers can set their own cookies and see your IP address when the embed loads, exactly as if you had visited their site. Their privacy policies govern that, not ours.

What we do not collect

  • We do not require registration, and there are no reader accounts
  • We do not run behavioural advertising networks or retargeting pixels
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16

Why we process it

  • Legitimate interests: understanding readership, keeping the site secure and available, responding to enquiries, and running our business
  • Consent: analytics cookies where consent is required in your jurisdiction, and newsletter subscription once live
  • Contract: where we are working with you on a commercial arrangement
  • Legal obligation: where retention or disclosure is required by law

Sponsored content and links

Some pages carry sponsored or commercial content, labelled as such. A sponsor does not receive your personal information from us. If a sponsored placement includes a tracked link, the destination site may record that you arrived from here.

We link to vendor sites, documentation, and third-party research throughout our coverage. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy practices apply.

If we introduce affiliate links, they will be disclosed on the pages carrying them and this policy will be updated to say so.

Sharing

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers who run infrastructure on our behalf; hosting, content delivery, analytics, and email; under contract and only for those purposes
  • Professional advisers where needed for legal or accounting reasons
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose
  • A successor entity, if the publication is sold or transferred, with notice on this page

International transfers

We operate from India and use service providers located in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data moves across borders, we rely on the transfer mechanisms our providers make available, including standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Analytics data follows Google’s retention settings for our property. Server logs rotate on a short cycle. Email correspondence is kept while relevant and then deleted on a periodic review. Commercial records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy
  • have inaccurate information corrected
  • have information deleted
  • object to or restrict certain processing
  • withdraw consent you previously gave
  • receive your data in a portable format
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To exercise any of them, email contact@securityopswire.com. We respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, which for a site without accounts usually means verifying the email address in question.

EU and UK readers can also complain to their national supervisory authority.

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics and for basic site function. You can block or delete them in your browser settings; the site will still work. Where a consent banner is required in your region, your choice there governs whether analytics cookies load. Most browsers also honour a global privacy control signal, which we respect where applicable law requires it.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site, restrict administrative access, and keep our platform patched. No system is immune. If a breach affecting personal information occurs, we will notify affected people and regulators as required by law.

Changes

We update this policy when our practices change, the newsletter launch being the next known change. The date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the page.
