Publish With Us

Two doors, and we keep them separate.

Security Ops Wire accepts contributed writing, and Security Ops Wire sells commercial placements. These are different things, handled by different inboxes, under different rules. Confusing them is how a publication ends up unreadable.

The editorial door is for practitioners and analysts with something specific to say. There is no fee to enter and no fee to publish. Acceptance is on merit, and most pitches do not make it.

The commercial door is for brands that want guaranteed placement. That is a paid arrangement, it is labelled on the page, and it is handled at Advertise With Us.

You cannot buy your way through the editorial door, and you do not need editorial approval to walk through the commercial one. Pick the one that matches what you actually want.

The editorial door

We welcome contributed insight, expert commentary, and editorial pitches relevant to our coverage areas. Submissions are reviewed on merit and are not guaranteed publication.

What gets accepted

Pieces built on something you know and we cannot look up:

  • Deployment reality. You rolled out a control across a real estate and learned where the vendor documentation was optimistic. Numbers, timelines, what broke.
  • Detection and response craft. Detection engineering, tuning approaches, triage workflow, what alert volume actually did to your team.
  • Category arguments. A case that a widely used category boundary is drawn in the wrong place, argued properly.
  • Buying and consolidation. How an evaluation or renewal was actually run, what the bake-off surfaced, where the business case held or failed.
  • Governance and compliance mechanics. Control mapping, audit evidence, the gap between a framework requirement and an operational control.

What gets rejected

  • Anything that reads as a product pitch with a byline attached
  • General explainers of concepts a reader could get from a vendor glossary
  • Prediction pieces without a mechanism behind the prediction
  • Link-building submissions dressed as thought leadership
  • Exploit code, weaponised proof-of-concept payloads, or attack tooling
  • Content written for a keyword rather than a reader

Rules

  • Original and exclusive. Not published elsewhere, not syndicated afterwards without agreement.
  • Sourced. Claims trace to documentation, data, or your own on-record experience. Our Four-Gate Review applies to contributed pieces too.
  • Disclosed. Tell us up front about any commercial relationship with a vendor you name. Employment, advisory roles, investments, reseller arrangements. Disclosure does not disqualify a piece. Concealment does, permanently.
  • Edited. We edit for structure, accuracy, and house style. Substantive changes come back to you before publication.
  • Bylined. Contributed pieces publish under your name with a short bio, marked as contributed.
  • Links. One relevant link to your company, in the bio. In-body links go where they support a claim. A piece written to carry a link is not a piece.

How to pitch

Email editorial@securityopswire.com with:

  • a working headline and three to four sentences on the argument
  • what you are drawing on that the rest of the internet does not have
  • which of our ten coverage areas it belongs in
  • your role, and any commercial relationships relevant to the topic
  • a link to something else you have written, if you have one

Pitch first. Do not send a finished draft cold.

We reply within two to three business days. Silence past a week means resend, not no.

The commercial door

Security Ops Wire also runs paid commercial placements: sponsored articles, category sponsorship, brand placement within existing coverage, product deep dives, and newsletter inventory.

Commercial content is handled entirely separately from editorial submissions. It is labelled at the top of the page. It does not affect rankings, verdicts, or inclusion anywhere else on the site.

This is not a link marketplace and we do not sell placement inside editorial comparisons. What is available, and how it is priced, is on Advertise With Us.
